Just Play Padel Open Day Raises £502.97 for North West Air Ambulance

On Sunday 5th July, we welcomed the local community to our first major event at Just Play Padel, and what a day it turned out to be.

With more than 200 people attending throughout the day and over 100 people stepping onto the courts to play, our Open Day was completely fully booked and exceeded all expectations. Most importantly, thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, donated and supported the event, we raised an incredible £502.97 for North West Air Ambulance.

The day was designed to give people the opportunity to experience padel for the first time in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Throughout the day, we ran free coaching and introductory sessions, helping players of all ages and abilities discover what makes padel such a fun, social and accessible sport.

One of the most rewarding parts of the day was seeing so many local faces. We met families, friends, neighbours and community groups from across the area, many of whom had been following the project from the very beginning. The overwhelming feedback was one of gratitude and excitement that there is now a local sporting facility available for people to enjoy.

As a family-run business, that means a great deal to us.

From the outset, our vision for Just Play Padel was simple: create a high-quality facility that serves the local community and gives people a new way to stay active, connect with others and have fun. Seeing the courts full throughout the day and hearing so many positive comments reinforced exactly why we started this journey.

We would also like to thank everyone who contributed to making the day special. Visitors were able to enjoy complimentary coffee and biscuits while watching the action on court, and the fantastic team at Slice & Scoop kept players and spectators fuelled throughout the afternoon with their delicious pizzas.

Most importantly, thank you to every single person who attended, donated, shared our posts, encouraged friends and family to come along, or simply helped spread the word. Community support has played a huge role in getting Just Play Padel to where it is today, and the Open Day was a wonderful reminder of the strength of that support.

Just Play Padel has always been about more than simply building courts. It is about creating something that belongs to the local area.
